SHS Wrestling: Jay grapplers earn split in Burlington double dual
The Sabetha Bluejay wrestling squad journeyed to Burlington on Tuesday, Jan. 15, to compete in a double dual with the host Burlington Wildcats and the Royal Valley Panthers.
The Jays were defeated by Burlington 54-27, but bounced back and defeated Royal Valley 54-17.
Junior 160-pound Walker Lowdermilk continues to shine for the Jays — picking up two wins on the evening.
“This was one of our biggest tests up to this point,” said Head Coach Ricky Creek. “Burlington is a solid team, but we rose to the occasion and wrestled as well as I’ve ever seen. I am very proud of how this team is evolving.”
