4-H Club News: Fairview Willing Workers

The Fairview Willing Workers held meetings in January and February.

January Meeting

The Fairview Willing Workers met for their January meeting on Sunday, Jan. 13. We met at the Arrow Twin Theater. There were 15 members and 10 parents in attendance.

The meeting was called to order by President Hunter Lowdermilk. Roll Call was done by Secretary Avery Baumgartner. Roll call was answered by naming what your favorite snack is.

Club business discussion was about ordering new club t-shirts. We also discussed the upcoming CAI in Topeka next month. Updated fair schedules were handed out. We also talked about preforming a skit for Club Days.

One program was presented at this month’s meeting. Raelynn Lanter gave a program on making Cookie Bars. She did a nice job showing everyone the steps it takes to make the tasty treat.

After the meeting was adjourned, we enjoyed watching The Greatest Showman. Our next monthly meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at the Lutheran Church in Fairview.

The club will hold the meeting, eat a taco dinner and then work on the skit for Club Days. Programs will be presented by Aden Grathwohl, Olivia Baumgartner and Jake Reiger. Hosts for the night will be the club.

February Meeting

The Fairview Willing Workers met for their February meeting on Sunday, Feb. 10. We met at the Lutheran Church in Fairview. There were 14 members and 16 parents in attendance.

The meeting was called to order by President Hunter Lowdermilk. Roll Call was done by Secretary Avery Baumgartner. Roll call was answered by naming who your valentine is.

Club business discussion was about what we are going to do for club days ,which is March 9. We walked through the skit a few times. It was agreed that the majority of club members would wear their 4-H shirts and arrive for practice at 1 p.m. at the Hiawatha High School. We also discussed the upcoming Easter egg hunt, which will be April 19; and beef weigh-in, which will be March 16.

This month’s meeting was also our Valentine’s Party. We enjoyed working on activity sheets, getting a valentine gift and eating a Taco Supper.

Two programs were presented at this month’s meeting. Aden Grathwohl gave a program on string art. Olivia Baumgartner gave a talk about making no bake cookies. They both did a great job.

Our next monthly meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 10, at the Community Building in Fairview. Programs will be presented by Hunter and Jackson. Hosts for the night will be the Grathwohl family.
