Club News: Sabetha Community Hospital Guild
Submitted by Kathie Tramp
The Sabetha Community Hospital Guild met at noon Monday, March 18, in the EMS building. Lunch, made by the ladies in the hospital kitchen, was served to 26 present.
During the delicious repast, Debby Thompson introduced Jenna McClain, our guest speaker, who is the acting Director of Nursing at the hospital. She shared some interesting facts with us. In 2018, 44 babies were born at SCH and 1,263 folks were seen in the emergency room of the hospital. She also shared that the hospital has partnered with Avera, a guide that helps doctors and nurses in the debriefing process after they have seen a patient. It basically gives our people “another pair of hands” when it comes to paperwork and mentally going back through a visit with a patient.
We were reminded of the Bloodmobile that was here on Tuesday, March 19. We have decided to skip having a spring bake sale and instead will have a garage sale on June 7 and 8. More on that will be discussed during our April meeting.
Thompson says that she needs help with programming and encouraged each of us to come up with some ideas.
The hospital will host a golf tournament in June, and we will decide next month what we want to donate – usually we sponsor a hole at the tournament.
It was reported that Lora Key is doing better and is in her office on a limited basis right now.
