Boys

It was a senior sweep for the boys as three senior boys took first in three individual events.

Senior Henry Glynn took first in the 800-meter run. Senior Mason Engelken continued his winning streak by claiming first in both the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdle races. Senior Elliott Strahm also took first in the shot put.

Girls

Two Lady Jays claimed first in their events. Senior Megan Meyer took first in the high jump with a jump of 5 feet. Freshman Olivia Saner took first in the pole vault with a vault of 8 feet, 6 inches.

“We had a very good day with several athletes obtaining season and career PRs,” said Head Coach Dave Remmers. “We won both the boys’ and girls’ team titles for this meet, which hasn’t happened for several years.”

“This was a good quality meet that challenged our kids and several athletes responded with their PRs,” Remmers said. “Four teams that will be in our regional at Silver Lake were at this meet, so we had the opportunity to see what some of the future competition will be like.”

The track and field teams traveled to Jackson Heights on Tuesday, April 16. These results were not available at The Herald’s press time.
