Bluejay golfers claim first at home invitational

After placing first at the Wamego Invitational the week prior, the Sabetha golfers tacked on another first-place win at their home invitational on Monday, April 8.

Sabetha took home the gold with a score 336. They were followed by Nemaha Central in second with a score of 396, Holton in third with a score of 405, and Marysville and MH-HA in fourth and fifth, respectively, with scores of 435.

Four of Sabetha’s six golfers placed in the top five, with Senior Jesse Burger leading the way in first with a score of 79. Junior David Pierson followed in second with a score of 81.

With a score of 85, junior Carson Ukele came in third. Senior Marcus Funk placed fifth overall with a score of 91. Sophomores Caden Lierz and Riley Lierz placed 13th and 15th, respectively.

The Bluejays hosted the Big 7 League Quad on Monday, April 15. These results were not available at The Herald’s press time.
