VFW Post 7285 honors essay contestants

On Friday afternoon, April 12, Post Commander Tom Evans and Youth Programs Chairwoman Patty Locher of Sabetha Memorial Post 7285 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars recognized the students from Sabetha Middle School who entered the VFW Essay Contest “Patriot’s Pen” in October 2018. The theme was “Why I Honor the American Flag.” Each contestant received a “Patriot’s Pen Participant” ballpoint pen as a memento. The theme for the 2019-2020 contest, for which essays are due by October 31, is “What Makes America Great.”
