The United 4 Youth Board met for their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, April 2, at the Sabetha Board Office.
Board members present were Secretary Jessica Atwood, Scott Anson, Treasurer Heather Stewart, Adam Reel, Brad Lippert, Brianna Gruber, Chair Krista Stallbaumer, Jason Drahota, Ashley Snyder, Executive Director Celene Holthaus and Former Executive Director Sarah Renyer.
The board welcomed new board member Ashley Snyder and approved the March minutes.
Stewart gave the treasurer’s report, and discussed the new budget that will start June 1.
Holthaus gave the Grant Coordinator’s Report. She reported that multiple ads were run for the It Matters and Talk They Hear You Campaigns. She also told the board that she and Renyer will be presenting about the grant next Thursday. Holthaus also reported that they were almost completed with the Sticker Shock campaign, on which she had help from sponsors and SADD members.
The board discussed options for the increase enforcement campaign. The purpose of the Increase Enforcement was to let the community members – kids and adults – know the regulations and consequences of underage drinking.
Holthaus gave the Director’s Report. She reported that the SADD reports looked good, and she would be setting up a booth at the Seneca Health Fair this weekend.
Holthaus said the new insurance policy will be prorated until November when our current policy will renew; after November, both policies will run together.
Holthaus discussed auto paying bills through the United Bank and Trust, for the purpose of cutting out the cost of checks. The board decided to table this discussion in order to do more research on the bylaws and cost of checks.
The board signed Thank You cards for businesses that participated in the Sticker Shock campaign.
Holthaus requested volunteers to join a committee for Stakeholder meetings to gather ideas and people to invite to the meetings. Committee will consist of Stewart, Gruber, Holthaus and Stallbaumer.
The board discussed Community Promotional item options.
The next meeting will be held in May in Seneca at the date and time to be determined later.
