Cardinals compete

The Wetmore High School track and field team competed in the Jackson Heights Invitational on Tuesday, April 16.

The boys’ team placed eighth with 28 points, and the girls’ team took ninth with 6 points.

For the girls, Alyssa Bloom took fourth in the 800-meter run. Savannah Bryant took sixth in the 100-meter hurdles. The 4×100-meter relay team of Bloom, Taylor Fillmore, Kenzie Strathman and Bryant took sixth.

For the boys’ running events, Eric Bloom and Hippo Pascal took second and third, respectively.

Also in the running events, Austin Smith took fifth in the 800-meter run.

Curtis Bloom took fifth in the triple jump. Joel Hutfles placed third in discus and fourth in the javelin throw.
