Classical Conversations: Students achieve memory master status

These youth have achieved the status of scripture scholars. They memorized and recited Exodus 20 verses 1-17, which recounts God delivering the 10 commandments to Moses and the Israelites. Classical Conversations of Sabetha is pleased to announce that three students have achieved the hard-earned status of memory master: Madeleine Aller, 6; Kaeb Coughlin, 9; and Isaiah Kilgo, 10. A memory master is a student who has committed to memory a chronological timeline of 161 events and people from creation to modern times, including the 45 U.S. Presidents. The students memorized 120 geographic features and political locations as well as 24 history sentences that span six Ancient Kingdoms from around the world.

Each student learned 24 facts about biology and Earth science and multiplication tables through the 15s plus squares, cubes, conversions and algebraic laws.

Each of these students also memorized their Latin noun endings and singular and plural cases and English grammar facts including prepositions, helping verbs and linking verbs. This is a major accomplishment in which each student recited all of the facts to a parent and to their Classical Conversation’s tutor Mrs. Aller and then proofed 25 percent of the information with their community director Mrs. Coughlin.

We also celebrate with Madeleine Aller, 6; Ava Coughlin, 6; Zoë Coughlin, 8; Phoebe Kilgo, 8, Kaeb Coughlin, 9; and Isaiah Kilgo, 10, for achieving the status of scripture scholar. They memorized and recited Exodus 20 verses 1-17, which recounts God delivering the 10 commandments to Moses and the Israelites.
