Minister Speaks: What matters most
I find that what matters most to me at any given moment is what drives my decisions, actions and even attitudes. It is easy to say what matters most to us, but the evidence of our decisions, actions and attitudes often reveal a different story.
We know the right answers to say like “you matter most” or “that doesn’t matter to me,” when in fact it does. That brings us back to the reality, if we are honest, that most of the time we matter the most to us. This has been the battle since we were infants and has plagued us our whole lives, even though we have disguised it at times (usually for our own benefit!)
I am continually brought back to the verse in Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ so that it is no longer I who live, but Christ Who lives in me.” That daily surrendering of ourselves, our decisions, our attitudes and actions, is what allows the true honest love of Christ to flow through us into each other’s lives for purely their benefit, despite the cost to us.
May this be the thing we give our lives for, Christ and His love.
For the Cause that matters most, Charlie.
