Raptors defeat Doniphan County, Plattsmouth

The Sabetha Raptors opened up their 2019 campaign at Somerset Park on Saturday, June 1, with two games. The Raptors won both contests, defeating Plattsmouth 11-2 in five innings and Doniphan County 15-0 in four innings.

Plattsmouth

Brayden Becker was on the mound for the home squad and pitched five complete innings giving up only two hits while striking out ten batters. The Raptors jumped out early by scoring four runs in the first two innings and then tacked on three in the third to put the game out of reach for Plattsmouth.

The Raptors pounded out 10 hits in the contest with Gabe Garber collecting three hits. Joe Gruber, Braden Argabright and Jalen Worthley each had a pair of hits with Agrabright and Worthley knocking in key runs. The Raptors were aided in the contest by being on the receiving end of ten walks and three errors.

Doniphan County

In the second game against Doniphan County the Raptors once again pounded out 10 hits and also received 11 free passes and two hit batters on their way to scoring 15 runs in four innings.

The Raptors jumped out early once again with five runs in the first inning and ten in the second. Argabright knocked in three runs and had a pair of hits and Braden Mitchell hit a two run double to lead the Raptors. Garber and Gruber also had a pair of hits in the contest. Trevor Kramer pitched three innings of one hit baseball with four strikeouts and Blake Frey came on in relief for the fourth inning.
