Updated map released

A new site plan for the Soldier Creek Wind Farm – which is to be located in southern Nemaha County surrounding the cities of Corning and Goff – has been released. This comes after a few Nemaha County residents noticed errors on the initial map, which was released on Tuesday, July 16.

According to Nemaha County Commissioner Gary Scoby on Monday, July 22, Nemaha County and NextEra Energy Resources were made aware of some errors on the original map and those errors – which were “simply errors” – and these have been corrected.

The new map – which was released on Friday, July 19 – is below.

The Nemaha County Commissioners plan to take action on this site plan and the updated term sheet during their regular weekly meeting at 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, at the Community Building in Seneca. Nemaha County’s hired wind farm attorney James Neeld will be present at the meeting to answer any questions and explain the term sheet, explain the site plan, and to explain the rationale behind it. They do not plan on taking public comments at this meeting.
