ARC Wild: Coughlin wins story contest

During the month of June 2019, ARC Wild encouraged kids to write a story about their summer adventures in nature. Zoë Coughlin was chosen as the Sabetha winner. She will receive a free ARC Wild party for herself and 10 friends.

On an early spring morning

Gray Mourning Doves singing

Coo-ah-coo, coo-coo so soothing

I wish to fly with all my being

Exploring on tip toe quietly

Bird-watching books weighing heavily

In backpacks as we walk cheerfully

Puffy cumulus clouds float gently

Observing birds high up in a tree

Sketching pictures on bended knee

My sister swaps colored pencils with me

I like her along for company
