Nemaha County Step Foundation Fall 2019 grant recipients announced
The STEP Foundation Board of Directors has announced recipients for the second round of 2019 grants. The grants are awarded for charitable purposes to enhance and improve the quality of life for the residents of Nemaha County. With more than $57,000 being requested this round, $8,400 is being granted.
Two organizations will be receiving a total of $8,400 from the Nemaha County STEP Foundation General Endowment Fund. An award of $7,300 will be used to purchase a new trailer and camping gear for the Seneca Boy Scouts Troop 71. With the assistance of the STEP Foundation, the Boy Scouts will be able to upgrade their trailer and camping gear, purchase new tents, and build new chuck boxes.
USD No. 380 Centralia Schools will be receiving $1,100 from the STEP General Endowment Fund to upgrade library materials and décor.
Both of these projects will make Nemaha County a great place to live! Grants are awarded twice a year through the STEP Foundation, with the next deadline being Jan. 15, 2020.
