Law Enforcement Report: Kansas Highway Patrol
At 6:40 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, a 1994 Ford Ranger driven by Kirk Eisenbise, 55, of Morrill was eastbound on U.S. Highway 36 approximately 3/10 of a mile west of Hazelnut Road when he lost control, sliding sideways across both lanes of traffic and striking a 2011 Nissan Rogue driven by Melissa Ryser, 37, of Wathena, who was traveling westbound. The vehicles collided head on. Eisenbise’s vehicle came to rest on its driver’s side in the roadway. Eisenbise was taken to Hiawatha Community Hospital with a suspected serious injury. Ryser had a possible injury with complaint of pain. Ryser was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. It is unknown if Eisenbise was wearing seatbelt.
